Google does not give refunds for most Google Play purchases. However, there are exceptions. If the purchase isn’t what you expected, doesn’t work, or you don’t want it any more, you can:
Get support from the developer of the app Most apps on the Play Store are made by third-party developers, not by Google. The developers should support their apps and make sure they work well for you. You should contact the app developer if:
You have a question about an app.
You made an in-app purchase but it wasn’t delivered or isn’t working as you expected.
You want a refund and it’s more than 48 hours since you made the purchase. The developer can help with purchase issues, and can process refunds pursuant to its policies and applicable laws.
Request a refund on the Google Play website. If it’s less than 48 hours since you bought an app or made an in-app purchase, you can request a refund through Google Play. If you bought music, movies, books, or other content, you may be able to request a refund after more than 48 hours. This is the quickest way to find out if Google will give you a refund. You’ll usually get a decision within 15 minutes.
Open a web browser (like Chrome or Safari) on your computer, tablet, or phone.
Copy https://play.google.com/store/account and paste it into the address bar of the web browser.
Make sure this is in a web browser and not the Google Play Store app. You can’t request a refund in the Google Play Store app.
Scroll down to “Order History” and find the order you want to return. To the right of the order, select More Menu.
Select Report a problem.
Choose the option that describes your situation, complete the form, and say that you would like a refund.
You will see a message saying “thank you for sharing your concerns.” Later you will receive an email about your refund.
Subscriptions on Google Play renew automatically unless you unsubscribe. If you don’t want the subscription for your magazine, music streaming, video streaming or other app to renew, you can cancel the subscription on Google Play. You can also change the payment method used for a subscription or membership.
Open the Google Play Store from your device.
Tap Menu button (top left corner) > Account and > Subscriptions.
Find the subscription you want to cancel.
Tap Cancel.
Important: Uninstalling an app will not automatically stop your subscription. You must cancel your subscription to end your subscription. If you uninstall the app without canceling your subscription, you will still be charged. If an app you’ve purchased a subscription for is removed from Google Play, your future subscription will be automatically canceled but past subscriptions will not be refunded.
As long as you use the same Google ID that you used for downloading the app initially, you will not be charged for re-downloading the app again (even when switching device).
Your app purchases are tied to your Google Account and can be installed an unlimited amount of times on any device. So, for example, if you remove “My Favorite Game” to save memory, you can reinstall it at a later date with no charge by simply visiting My Apps. You can also re-install apps from play.google.com from the My Android Apps section. If you are being asked to purchase an application you have already purchased on Google Play on an existing or previous device, you might be using a different Google account than the one you were using at the time you made your purchase. Because the application is associated with a different Google account, you are being charged to purchase it again. Additionally, if you are missing certain apps (free or paid), they might be registered under a different Google account. Fortunately, you can recover access to these apps by simply switching the account you’re currently signed into on Google Play.
Please contact the application developer that you made a purchase from if you have any questions regarding the application that you downloaded or for issues related to app that you have downloaded. You can find the contact options (an email address or phone no. or a website) of the application developer under the developer section in the application that you have downloaded.
